Our country thanks to the constituent fathers, the unforgettable and irreplaceable freedom fighters, it is a solid parliamentary democracy. In fact, they have left us a situation of articulated and balanced powers so well as to vaccinate the country against any form of "street" democracy and against any nostalgia for the suppression of minorities. Parliament e Referendum they are complementary, constitutionally fixed to represent the interests of the sovereign people without collisions.
Setting the right "quorum" of participants to validate the Referendum meant - yesterday but also today - giving value to this important participation tool, so much so that only for this "vote", there is full legitimation to "not vote". This is because consultations on issues that Italian citizens consider marginal and should be addressed by paid parliamentarians for the purpose, give voters the sacrosanct right to stay at home. Abolish or reduce the "quorum" to favor the domination of the few it is offensive to the word freedom.
The "abstention", numerous in Italy, is a legitimate political position; but, honorable representatives of the people, instead of understanding the reasons, they want to abolish this right. Lies have short legs… e they have not historically brought electoral consensus in the "ballot boxes". We don't say it, the Italians said it. Italians no longer believe in the bait for the larks of the "poachers of votes".
