La Basilicata region has decided to approve a selective culling and control plan for the wild boar species. This was announced by the regional council itself, recalling how the local authority has put in place all the necessary and useful tools to face the proliferation of wild animals and their constant expansion from a numerical point of view. As has been learned in the last few hours, ungulates do not only cause extensive damage to agricultural crops; their presence is ever closer to inhabited centers and cannot fail to arouse worry and alarmism.
The safety of citizens is at risk due to road accidents that are favored by the sudden apparitions and crossings of these animals along the roads. The plan aims at a massive downsizing of the total.
