FITAV: 1st Grand Prix Fossa Olimpica in a weekend of competitions at the TAV Acquaviva in Cellino Attanasio (TE) and in other 27 locations.
Last weekend, marked the official start of the run-up to the titles of Italian Champion for the specialty of the Olympic Pit. A general mobilization that involved the whole boot with 28 matches based on the different categories and qualifications of the shooters. The top series, that is the one formed by the shooters of the Excellence Category, met on the platforms of the Tav Acquaviva in Cellino Attanasio (TE) together with the women's sector and that of the Youth Sector. The scope of the appointment was made full by the words of the Technical Director Albano Pera “The Fitav Grand Prix are all important. For me they represent an excellent showcase to evaluate the state of form of the shooters who are already part of the national teams and, above all, to know those who are not yet included in the squads. The technical level is always very high and they represent an excellent test bench. As regards the Italian shooters, in particular, I have not yet defined the components of the teams that will leave for the 3rd Round of the Cyprus World Cup and the results of this Grand Prix will be taken into consideration precisely for this purpose ".
For the cadet series, on the other hand, the competition venues are four, namely Tav Santa Lucia di Piave (TV), Tav Pecetto (AL), Tav Castelfidardo (AN) and Tav Spinella (BR). As for all the others, that is the shooters of the Second and Third Category and of the Veteran and Master Qualifications, the qualification path for the final of the Italian Championship will develop on a regional basis, with competitions organized by the individual territorial realities. Twenty-three companies were involved last weekend.
The number of participants, 181, confirmed the growing trend for this sporting event (175 athletes in the 2014 edition), highlighting the highest data regarding the excellence category (115 registered compared to 104 in the last edition). Gold for the excellence category went to Valerio Grazini (121/125 + 14), who overtook the excellent Giuseppe Gasparretti (13/11 + 122) in the final 125 to 14. Third place for Simone Lorenzo Prosperi (121/125 + 13 + 13). In the Juniores category Luca Miotto won (118/125 + 12 + 1), beating in the final (14 to 12) Francesco Idone (120/125 + 13 + 12). The bronze went to Luigi De Milito (116/125 + 11 + 12). Giulia Pintor wins gold in the Ladies category (66/75 + 13 + 3) overcoming the medal 10 to 9 in the final match by none other than Jessica Rossi (72/75 + 14). Third place went to the athlete of the Fiamme Gialle Silvana Maria Stanco (67/75 + 13 + 2 + 13). In the women's Juniores, Antonia Ricciardi (62/75 + 12 + 2) won, beating the titled Alessia Iezzi in the final 11 to 8 (69/75 + 12 + 2). On the third step of the podium Erica Sessa (69/75 + 12 + 1 + 13).
