Hunters and Environment: the Parks of Central Emilia sign an agreement with the hunters of the Modena 2 Hunting Territorial Area for the maintenance of the trails.
The Emilia Centrale Parks Authority has signed an agreement with the ATC (Territorial Area Hunting) Modena2 for the assignment of the maintenance of itinerary no. 7 of the Sassi di Roccamalatina Park. In particular, the maintenance of the route (over 4 kilometers, along the Roccamalatina-Rio Tregenda-Samone section) will be carried out by the hunting teams "Monte della Riva" and "Guiglia", operating within District B (Guiglia, Zocca and Savignano sul Panaro) headed by Augusto Casagrandi. These are ordinary maintenance works (mowing, clearing, cleaning, restoration fords, etc.), provided by hunters completely free of charge and voluntarily, which will help to maintain and safely walk the over 100 kilometers of paths present in the area. Park of the Sassi.
“This agreement - says Giovanni Battista Pasini, president of the Emilia Centrale Parks Authority - shows that the relationship between protected areas and hunters, if well finalized, can be very positive, especially for the benefit of the territory”. The Emilia Centrale Parks Authority has already in place, since last year, another agreement with the ATC MO2 for the management of the hunting activity in "Contiguous Area", concerning the wildlife control, in particular on wild boar, in a territory vulnerable from the point of view of damage to agriculture.
“Hunting - says Francesco Lamandini, president of ATC MO2 - is increasingly becoming a land management activity, as demonstrated by the interventions and agreements in the field of civil protection and with protected areas”.
