Hunting and Fauna: Marche, Coldiretti heavily criticizes the postponement of wild boar hunting, diversified by province, decreed by the Region; "Shameful postponement, a slap to the farmers".
While farmers are closing their farms due to the constant damage caused by wild boars, the Marche Region has chosen to take the defense of a minority of hobbyists who spend their Sundays shooting in the countryside. The complaint comes from Coldiretti after the regional council approved the highly contested one resolves on the postponement of the opening of the hunting season for the collection of wild boar. “A shameful choice because it represents a slap in the face to the thousands of agricultural businesses that are suffering from the damage - accuses Giannalberto Luzi, president of Coldiretti Marche -. While it would have been necessary to anticipate the hunt, the demands of the beltlai lobbies prevailed once again, towards which politics continues to have an inexplicable subjection and this despite their effectiveness is at least doubtful, given that in recent years the wild boar population and the consequent attacks on the camps have increased exponentially. Are we really sure that the goal of these teams is still to reduce the number of animals? ”.
Against yet another massacre on the part of politics, Coldiretti will field all possible actions. "At this point we will ask the Executive to assume its responsibilities before companies also at the legal level - concludes Luzi -, but we will also move to shed light on the wild boar meat market, since it is not possible that our companies continue to guarantee the food to those who are now open air farms ".
