Saturday 14 July 2018 at 15 pmAuditorium of the Province of Treviso will host an interesting conference dedicated to the Ornithological Observatory of Mount Pizzoc. This property is located right in the Treviso area, to be precise a Fregona, and is also a fundamental point of reference for the hunting world. The day will allow to deepen the results of five years of autumn migration studies by scientific ringing and sight counts. The period considered is that between 2013 and 2017.
Speakers will be Andrea Favaretto (doctor of Forestry Sciences), Francesco Mezzavilla (faunist biologist), Paolo Sparvoli (president Free Hunt), Angela Popovic (Public Affairs Manager on behalf of FACE), Angelo Nicolì (head of the Lecce capture center), Alessandro Cannas and Luca Stincardini (wildlife technicians of the Free Hunting Legislative Office). The 2017 ringing season ended last November with many rock thrushes and finches.
As pointed out by the managers of the structure, it was almost a shame, given that the last day was splendid and characterized by a steady pace. The 2017 season was judged splendid thanks to the excellent weather conditions (a novelty compared to the last few years), while the catches were amazing. All the volunteers have made a great effort and great availability, putting themselves at the service of research.
