“The identity of a territory - he explains Floriano Massardi - finds one of its most important expressions in the local cuisine and this is the reason that led me to draw up this bill, recently filed in Regional Council and aimed at safeguarding the main dish of traditional Brescia cuisine: the spit. In fact, as everyone knows, in past years, the national legislator wanted to bow, in an all too stringent way, to the demands dictated by theXNUMX-XNUMX business days in the field of game and this has led to impair the traditional Brescia dish in restaurants and festivals of one of its parts most important and appreciated: birds.
A senseless abuse of power, the latest in a series of gastronomic follies, which over time have affected various typical dishes, cooked for centuries, if not for millennia, throughout our country. The Regional Bill of which I am the first signatory explicitly aims to restore our ancient customs and it does, in our opinion, in a completely legitimate way, in the name of free, without contrasting with national legislation. Personally I think it is a battle of common sense, in open opposition to a certain obscurantism that has literally clouded someone's mind.
Now we aim to schedule this proposal as soon as possible to the attention of the competent Commission of the Pirellone; our goal is to restore lost dignity to the Brescia spit. I would like to thank you immediately the leader of the Lega Anelli group, for having believed in the initiative, the Ligurian lawyer Andrea Campanile for the invaluable contribution and all those who participated, in various capacities, in the drafting of the text, hoping - concludes Massardi - that the efforts of this year of work will be successful ”.
