Migration step: If we lay out the geographical map of the Mediterranean Basin in front of us, we realize that from Greece to Spain the presence of the Song Thrush it was really exciting, showing how its nesting in the north of the western Palaearctic, where the summer was favorable thanks to the weather conditions, was very positive.
The migratory currents have kept faith with the line of the pass which, flying over the Julian Alps, led towards the south of France and throughout the area of Catalonia, arriving in the territory of Valencia up to the south of Spain. One really wonders what was the magnitude of this migration and how many were the subjects in flight that have flown over these areas!
Subjects present also in this first decade of November - heavily disturbed by the unfavorable weather conditions due to the persistent rains - have delighted ornithologists and those who, through a coordinated and controlled hunting collection, have enjoyed this memorable migration. We want to start this note because they confirm what has been pointed out about the alternating seasons due to the massive presence of other species as well such as Blackcap, Frosone, Pettirosso, Merlo and Regolo.
In this period, moreover, there is confirmation by other Observatories, also scattered in Europe, of the good presence of the Redwing and Peppola, while, apart from some first sightings, we are anxiously awaiting the more consistent arrival of the Cesena.
Even the Siskin is observed in small numbers and so is the Snipe, while della Woodcock there is more reassuring news, as it is observed more often: a specimen was ringed at the Arosio Observatory in the late afternoon of 6 November.
Among the aquatic, apart from the excellent number of Cormorants and Herons present, among the anatids the Teal is seen more numerous, accompanied by the first groupings of Pochards and Morette.
In conclusion, we still have to wait for a November to be written.
