The municipal section of Montoro (province of Avellino) of the Italian Federation of Hunting organized the sixteenth edition of the Wild Boar Festival from 22 to 24 July next. The stands in Torchiati locality and will remain open from 19:30. What will the participants find? The gastronomic offer is really interesting, as expected from a traditional and time-honored festival like the one in Campania.
Wild boar meat will inevitably be the undisputed star of the evenings and even celiacs can enjoy the dishes prepared without any problems. The menu includes fusilli with wild boar ragout, pasta and beans with pork rinds, cotechini with beans, escalope and sauté. In addition, other exquisite delicacies will be cooked, including stew with a side of stewed potatoes, sandwiches stuffed with wild boar sausage, sandwiches with porchetta, meatballs, French fries and chestnut flour desserts.
Each dish will be accompanied by wine, draft beer, coke, orange juice or mineral water. The three evenings can also count onmusical accompaniment with Latin American songs, as well as entertainment for the little ones. Montoro is famous for its typical food products, such as the artichoke, the coppery onion, the chestnut of Serino (DOP) and the tomato of San Marzano which is part of its production area.
