After the sentence of Regional Administrative Court which canceled the 2018-2019 hunting calendar of Sicily, the Region has decided to approve a new one that can remain valid until the deadline set for the island hunt. After remembering that the hunting of the wild rabbit it is suspended for the inter season, the various dates to be respected for the different species have been followed up. Some deadlines have already existed, but we must refer to those that are still valid.
In particular, January 16 will be the last day to hunt magpies and jays. January 31, on the other hand, represents the deadline for the fox, while January 16 must also be respected for wood pigeons. Fieldfare, song thrushes and stone thrushes can be taken until January 20, without forgetting the various aquatic species. In fact, the 31 January 2019 will be the last day for hunting teals, woodcocks, snipes, gadflies, pintails, wigeons, coots, water rails, moorhens, mallards, shovels, pochards and lapwings.
All these provisions also remain valid for Natura 2000 sites, in the territory of the island of Ustica outside the site itself, in the island of Pantelleria outside the relative national park and in the territory of the archipelago of the Egadi Islands outside the Special Protection Area Ita010027. The application of the provision must be considered immediate.
