A few days separate us from the end of 2018 and certainly, i Tuscan hunters are experiencing in these hours a climate of great uncertainty for the end of the hunting season. The results and timing of the recent suspension order issued by the Council of State on the hunting calendar of the The Tuscan Regional Authority, impose, as always supported without uncertainty by the CCT, an act necessary to re-establish legal certainty on the part of the Region. Unlike others who have now "thrown in the towel" the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters considers this path absolutely legitimate in the technical-scientific reasons, as well as politically prosecutable, to support a measure that goes beyond the merits of an unacceptable and incomprehensible precautionary order pending the ruling of the Tuscan TAR. A grotesque sentence that we will undertake to oppose in the future, as we have done up to now, forming us formally alongside the Region.
Our lawyers are already evaluating, among other initiatives, a possible appeal to the Supreme Court due to a clear violation of the Administrative Judge's own competences on the merits of the public administration, to re-establish a framework of certainties for the next calendars. A battle that promises to be long and that we will have to face with the maximum clarity and competence. However, for the immediate future, it is necessary to act to reach a solution that saves the end of the current hunting season by guaranteeing the hunting collection for the Wood Pigeon, the Aquaticians, the Corvids and the Woodcock. We want to underline once again the reasons that lead us to ask the Councilor Remaschi and to the President Red an act of political courage expected, as much as necessary.
In fact, there are no obstacles to re-establishing irrefutable basic concepts: the ordinance, in our opinion, cannot intervene, for example, on the hunting of aquatic species in SPAs as in such areas, no pre-opening took place. Therefore, the effects of the same would be, for the areas concerned, already not applicable today. For the Wood pigeon species, the opinions expressed by Ispra, and more generally the contents of the Guidelines for the preparation of hunting calendars, leave the Regions ample space for forecasting hunting periods for the species even wider than those established by the calendar. Tuscan. In the end, we believe that the reasons given by the offices of the Tuscany region are more than sufficient on the Woodcock species have provided Ispra related data and additional scientific studies that demonstrate the compatibility of the sampling on the species in the month of January for at least an additional decade on 10 January as required by the Key Concepts.
Our sincere hope therefore remains to see these and other considerations accepted in order to quickly overcome this serious phase of uncertainty. We are extremely convinced that the request activated by the Tuscany Region for obtaining a supplementary opinion from Ispra goes in the right direction even if this should not be considered binding at any cost. The time we have left before us is certainly not long, but the new year could concretely bring as a dowry a start in the name of good politics and the pride of defending a balanced hunting calendar, strong in content and respectful of wildlife conservation. Happy New Year to all hunters therefore, but above all a wish that the problems and difficulties we have to face increase the reasons for the unity of our hunting world as an essential basis for its restart and to overcome the challenges that await us!
