The Piedmontese section of the Italian Federation of Hunting decided to write to the Courier of Novara after the recent publication of an article entitled "Hunting yes, hunting no: after the observations of the ISPRA, Ferrero and the others reply". As explained by Federcaccia Piemonte, the note sent by the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research to the Italian regions is a simple reminder of any measures to be taken for hunting and dog lovers following the drought of recent months.
In reality, ISPRA plays a different role than this, however, the hunting world has always been very attentive to the conservation of the environment and nature. Furthermore, according to the association, hunters will give up hunting without problems if there were any reliable and irrefutable scientific data. Despite the heat and fires, wild animals always know how to adapt to climate change, without forgetting that several huntable migratory species will arrive in Italy in a few weeks.
For FIDC Piemonte the controversy is therefore pretext and instrumental, as well as driven by the emotions of individuals, if not by prejudice towards the hunting world. The animal rights and environmentalist positions are not surprising, while the position of the regional councilor is curious Giorgio Ferrero, who also boasted of having reintroduced the ban on hunting certain species in regional legislation.
