The regional sections of the Lazio della Federcaccia, ANUUMigratoristi, Italcaccia, Enalcaccia, Game Producers, Libera Caccia and Arci Caccia have contacted Region with this joint press release. If the Lazio Region intends to close the hunt to allow President Zingaretti to count on the support of four grillini, please take a seat. Know, however, that from today it will meet all kinds of resistance possible from our part. The behavior of the Lazio regional council is no longer tolerable which, demonstrating total disregard and indifference towards the category, makes and undoes boundaries, ways and times without consulting the wildlife-hunting technical committee, in defiance of the national framework law 157/92.
Yet the Region should now know well the flavor of defeat before the TAR and the Council of State, given that it holds the national record in terms of appeals suffered and lost on the subject of hunting. Going in no particular order, the Lazio Region has modified - expanding them - the borders of two regional protected areas with a carbonara resolution, that is, issued without dealing in any way with the agricultural and hunting components, all without taking into account the provisions of national law, which prescribes the agro-forestry-pastoral territory to be inhibited from hunting must be understood between 20 and 30% of the total available area.
The Region also modified some substantial aspects of regional law 17 of 1995 - which regulates hunting in Lazio - without, even in this case, calling the technical committee for wildlife-hunting. The same committee, to which the framework law attributes a role of control over the application of the law itself, has not been convened for almost a year despite the fact that there have been innovations and changes of various kinds on the subject: indeed, the Region asked us, eight months ago, for the names of the new members of the committee which has expired and therefore needs to be renewed, but without following up on what has been announced. It's still: the exams for the qualification to practice hunting have not been held for two years in the Lazio Region, with the consequence that young people can no longer take the license, thus eliminating the generational turnover in addition to the tax damage due to the lack of income from the regional government tax and, last but not least, the interruption of public service.
For all these considerations we announce, immediately, striking actions against the Region, without excluding the possibility of a shotgun strike to leave President Zingaretti and his friends in the company of "five-star" wild boars, as well as renounce paying regional concession fees for next season, making the Region's coffers miss 3 and a half million euros and thus speaking to politics - and to institutions - with the only language they know and that really matters to them: that of money. In light of the above, we expect an urgent call.
