Arci Caccia: the Senate rejects the anti-live call amendments for hunting purposes, rejecting animal rights claims; "Now don't let your guard down, the battle continues."
Regarding the rejection by the Senate of the amendments to the contrary to the discipline of capturing birds to be used as live decoys for use in hunting the president of Arci Caccia del Veneto, Giuliano Ezzelini Storti, declared, "The vote expressed yesterday evening by the Environment and Industry Committees of the Senate on an amendment to the" Competitiveness "decree presented by the group leader Pd Massimo Caleo concerning the discipline of the capture of live calls for hunting from stalking.
It is obviously important that our country has decided to regulate the matter to respond to an infringement procedure of the European Union but it is equally significant that the animalist aggression that had used the argument instrumentally to give voice and substance to the ideological anti-hunt crusade.
In the votes, evaluations of a technical, legal and scientific nature prevailed, taking into account the history, culture and traditions of the country. It was not easy to do this given that "information and good salons" were working on defeatism and we thank the government, and all the parliamentary groups who have kept the bar straight in a situation of real difficulty, for not having listened to the fundamentalist sirens.
In this context, as Arci Caccia, together with the national president Osvaldo Veneziano, whom we thank for the determination put in place, we have faced a great battle to safeguard hunting and migratory hunters and we have made the utmost effort, together with the major hunting associations to achieve the target. The result achieved reassures us but we must still be careful of the ambushes that there will be and continue to closely follow the subsequent votes in the Chamber both in the Senate and in the Chamber and therefore the preparation of the Dpcm which within six months must be approved by the Government ".
