Castagneto Carducci, a small town in the province of Livorno which is known precisely for having hosted Giosuè Carducci as a child, is the location where a crowded assembly of the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, an eagerly awaited appointment to discuss the new objective law that the region plans to implement contain ungulates. The adjective "crowded" is not an exaggeration, given that, as stated in the official statement, the hundreds and hundreds of hunters intervened have done open a cinema to adjust the capacity and allow everyone to participate. Marco Remaschi, regional councilor for Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing, e Gianni Anselmi, president of the Second Commission "Agriculture and Environment", had the opportunity to know and deepen many points of view, positions and proposals on the subject.
In particular, a feeling emerged, that is, the deep unease of the hunters with regard to the current situation, in addition to an intolerance towards animal rights positions, but also the constructive spirit with which the entire path of the recently approved law was followed. The objective of this text was reiterated several times during the assembly, that is the total rebalancing of the faunal presences in the area, a goal that however needs the use of effective methods, the enhancement of the experience of the hunting world e the assignment of roles, functions and precise choices to the Territorial Areas of Hunting.
That's why it was clamored for enhance boar hunting teams, already active for some time in the prevention and protection of agricultural crops and the environment, not only in the areas assigned to them for hunting. Tuscan hunters have pointed out how the objective law only partially accepted the proposals and considerations of the confederation. Furthermore, at the moment there is no concern for a possible sabotage of the application of the rules just passed, more than anything else there is a risk that the commitment of the hunters will be nullified in practice: the most immediate consequence would be a less effective and robust ATC economic policy, with increasing disbursements of money for the damages suffered.
The representatives of the CCT also highlighted the need for management and a design that are more organic, in order to administer the fauna and the territory. The latter should be monitored carefully, with gradual and progressive checks over the months, especially as regards the implementation plans. The explicit request to the Tuscany Region is that of make the necessary corrections to the plan in case the possibility arises during construction. The construction of a single subject that represents all Tuscan hunters is much more than a hypothesis.
